Hildegard M. "Hilde" (Auer) Zylberberg

Hildegard M. “Hilde” Zylberberg, age 94, of Millville, NJ, passed away on Tuesday April 9, 2024 at the Maurice House Assisted Living.

Hilde was born in Munich, Germany just before World War II. She moved to the United States in 1953 and married her beloved husband Joseph in 1958. She became a US citizen in 1961. She was a longtime resident of Millville, NJ and enjoyed her time living in the city. Hilde worked as a secretary in the payroll department at Wheaton Glass for over 40 years. She also served as a translator for the company’s clients in Germany.

Hilde is predeceased by her husband Joseph Zylberberg. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her dear friends Bonnie and Ed Andrews, her longtime home health caregiver Comfort Anour, and her friends Pat, Rey, and James. Her friends would like to thank the very kind staff at Maurice House for their love and care of Hilde, as well as the love and care given by her nurse Roberta, Jamie, and Amanda from Suncrest Hospice, and for the retired priest who prayed with her and for her.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 10:30 am at All Saints Catholic Church, Buck and Depot Sts., Millville, NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville. It was Hilde’s wish that there be no viewing or visitation. Friends and neighbors may gather at the Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ, from 9:45 to 10:15 am to prepare for funeral procession to the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hilde’s memory to All Saints Catholic Parish, 621 Dock St., Millville, NJ 08332, or to the ASPCA. Memories of Hilde and condolences in her honor may be shared using the tribute wall tab.
